Biography

Dr. Sheri Morris is the 5th child of 6, all of which were taught to be independent and to seek knowledge. They were also taught to be the best at what they do. That is what Dr. Morris has aspired to be.

She took this advice, graduated with honors from the University of Texas in Austin and continued on to the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. There, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and received several other awards. Surgical residency brought her to Albuquerque, where she has stayed by choice in this beautiful state.

"I love to hike and bike the many wonderful trails in the mountains and to take my 2003 anniversary edition Harley Davidson Fat Boy out on the road to explore the many wonderful sites almost year round, thanks to our great weather."

She and her staff are devoted to creating an atmosphere that addresses the individual needs of our patients, as opposed to making them feel like just another number.

Why She Comes To Work

At the beginning of her career, Dr. Morris felt that being a surgeon was satisfying because results were noticeable and came after just a short period of recovery. People felt better. However, she quickly learned that she had something more than her surgical expertise to offer to her patients. She takes the time to listen and to explain thoroughly and plainly what is happening and what is needed to make things better.

Dr. Morris has learned other valuable lessons through her schooling and her career. Patients can depend upon her competency and steady hands, while also knowing that she delights in seeing her patients recover. Laparoscopy is becoming more commonly used in the surgical field, and Dr. Morris is equipped to fulfill the expectations that come with being a laparoscopic and general surgeon.
